1997 1000F wiring harness
Hi,
Recently my bike died, no electrics at all. checked the battery and it was swollen (previous owner didn't take the breather off!) so i changed the battery. still no electrics. checked the starter solenoid and it was a melted plastic burnt mess! i figured the rectifier may have been an issue to so to cover all bases i bought a new wiring harness from a chap breaking a 1990 1000f. only concern is that the solenoid looks slightly different to the one on my bike. is this an issue or will it be ok to replace?
the only problem i have is the bike is about 200 miles away at my families house and dont want to take a train down there to replace with this harness if there is a major difference?
any advice greatly appreciated as i'd rather try and fix myself than take it to a garage,
thanks for reading...

Hey Shawn,
My thoughts are that it would be ok but.........................
I would've tried to find a Mk III harness I think.
Easy to say I know but that then eliminates questions such as the one you're asking.
I'm not at all sure what differences exist in the electrickery system between the Mk II and Mk III so can't adequately answer your question. Do you have a Haynes manual with the electrical diagrams. I think that's where I'd start.
Good luck with it and sorry I couldn't help more.
Cheers, SB
