1991 CBR1000F Seat catch release

hi everyone,I have just purchased a beautiful 1991 cbr1000f which is in amazing condition for the year,I decided to take all the back end off for proper cleaning and put it all back together and the Seat won’t release,I have seen the previous thread on this problem and found the link to cmsl to look at the part needing to be pushed to release the Seat and have now tried for two hours to no avail, could someone please post a photo so as I can see where I have to push the lever, thanks in advance, dave

This is the seat latch mechanism with the seat removed.

The key operates the bar with the cam pushing the latch which you can just about make out behind the cam. This needs to be pushed towards the rear of the bike.

Push down on the ear of the seat whilst tuning the key, that may help.

Hi everyone and thanks for your replies and help,I have now found out why the seat catch did not work,it was my own stupid fault ,I had the rear body work of an put the little lever that goes to to the part where you insert the key the wrong way round so as it was not touching the release mechanism,I got into it in the end by putting a small bend on a piece of brass welding rod and fed it over the back light and into the cavity where the latch is located,it took a little time but I got lucky in the end and caught the catch and it opened so all is well, thanks again, dave.

I think that's the first thing I searched for when I bought mine "How do you get the seat off" lol.
