1000F Drive Chain and Sprockets
I need a new drive chain and rear sprocket for my 1995 CBR1000F. I have looked around a little bit, and I'm having trouble figuring out exactly where to get these and an approximate cost. Many places don't even list anything for the 1000F.
I'm not concerned with adding or losing teeth or anything, I just want a "stock" size chain and sprocket kit for less than Honda's over $400 price quote. I'm sure many of you have replaced these before, so please help me if you can.
Thanks.

RE: 1000F Drive Chain and Sprockets
I got a standard D.I.D chain and sprockets here in the UK for £110, that would be under $200 with the current exchange rate so I'm sure they're available from some independant shops. According to the manuals, from the F-K onwards it should be a 42 on the rear, and a 17 on the front. The H and J models, it should be a 43 on the rear and a 17 on the front. The price above was for a heavy duty x-ring chain, and was also the fitted price. I'll see if I can dig out the chain specs as well, then i'm sure somebody would be able to order the relevant non-honda parts for you. I'd certainly grudge paying $400 I think!
Cheers,
Kev.

I just replaced mine with JT sprockets and an RK XSO chain for around $150-160. Check out http://Cyclepages.com. Just enter your bike info and it will give you a whole list of available options. I looked long and hard for the best price and this was it for me. Hope this helps.

RE: 1000F Drive Chain and Sprockets
I tried cyclepages and it doesn't list any specs for my bike and no parts associated with it. It's a 1995 CBR1000F. I found the RK-XSO chain by searching under chains, and it says "no bikes associated with this chain" I know it's a 530, 120 link chain, though. As far as the sprocket, I tried a manual search for it and can't find it.

The place won't let me register either, keeps giving me errors etc.
I decided to just go to kneegraggers.com instead and pay a little extra. However, in their listing for that chain, they have it listed as an SXO chain, not XSO, and the picture is of the 520, not 530. Am I just having a bad day or what?
