90 cbr1000f battery...
it calls for a 14L-B2 and i was wondering if it is possible to swap it for a 14L-A2... or am i taking the chance of putting it in there and having something go very wrong very quick... thanks...

It shouldn't make a difference at all, I wouldn't think....
I've heard that the Deka is a good battery. I had a car one in my civic for a long time, and it was a great battery. The A2 has the vent / exhaust / overflow on the oposite side to the B2.

:icon_hyper:Do away with dripping acid - get a Gel Cell Battery!:icon_doh:
:icon_bike: MotoBatt Batteries (Product code: MBTX14AU) :icon_bike: http://warpedtoys.com/store/index.ph...oduct_id=12284 Attachment 56001 FYI: I had to twist the Battery Cable Ends to get them to align with the 'L' bracket mounts that are held by screws to the battery posts. I thought this was kinda of cheesy. |
Sribop - Come up to the intro section and say hello and tell us about your bike, and yourself.
Welcome ! (and yes, gel batteries are great) :) |

Yep, I've been running the motobatt for a while now, also... :)
A great glass mat battery for $65 shipped. (ebay/amazon) Sprock is running one now, too. :icon_wink: Welcome, sribop!! |
+1 on the MotoBatt ........ some real smart Guy put me onto them ! ........just can't
seem to remember who that smart Guy was ! |
Drag Specialties also makes a version of the YTX14AHL-BS AGM battery. If you have a Parts Unlimited dealer near by then you can probably order one for around $64.
|
Oh, I see how it is, CyberTrip.... the PU AGM you recommend is $64, while the one i recommend is $65.
Nice..... LOL.. :) |

Ah... yeah... LOL. I just recommended it for those who may have a local PU distributor. Lots of local moto shops use them. I almost bought a bat from the one your recommended but then I found out the local shop here can order me a bat for nearly the same price.
PLUS The Motobatt has four terminals .......which seriously ....... I found to be very handy ! |

Yeah but are they the wicked cool yellow go faster color that the MotoBatt is :D ??....... That yellow was worth a buck more imo ...lol

Yeah but are they the wicked cool yellow go faster color Too late to take it back now, you've been quoted! Yellow fast... silver slow! :) But yeah, the extra terminals do kinda come in handy. I have my 12V accessory running off the extra posts, and in the winter I can run my heated jacket plug off it. :) Only thing I didn't like was that you had to pizz around getting the factory cables to hook up right. Kinda awkward. The motobatt honestly starts my bike quicker than I think a regular wet cell ever did, tho. Maybe my old one was just getting so old and the new one is deceiving, but I still don't remember my bike ever cranking so fast. I guess time will tell how it holds up, but it's great so far. No acid to mess with, comes fully charged, and only $65 to my door. Worth a shot. I'm sure the Parts Unlimited one is a good battery, too, tho. |
my understanding is the gel battery is the sealed battery..i read somewhere that "older bikes" should not have such Sealed batteries as their electronics are not configured for it..is that true?

Thank you everyone
