Default Factory Pro Racekit

Sort of a newb here, and I just bought a brand new Factory Pro CRB-H72-1.7-RK "Racekit" for my '99 F4 on ebay. I've read that it needs machining of the carbs to work. I wasn't planning on doing it myself but I was wondering exactly what kind of machining would be involved, exactly what would they be changing? I was also wondering what other mods would help improve this change in the carbs (e.g. new filters, advancers, exhaust, etc.). From what I hear, this kit is really a big boost in power. Anyone ever actually install these. Any good results?

I am interested as well, as I am looking at purchasing this, but don't want a lot of time and effort into something if it is only minimal... Let me know if you do it or how it goes...

I bought a set for $25 on ebay and they say it is drop in, my local dealer said 1 hour of labor...not bad...will gain around 9 hp per factory pro website. I don't know to put in a k&n or bmc air filter...
