Hornet 919 Intermittent Engine Misfire
I know the CB900F Hornet 919 isn’t a CBR, it shares the same engine and EFI system with the 900.
About a week ago I accidentally left the ignition on on my hornet and it killed the battery. When I finally got it back up and running it had the common symptoms of a bad FPR, since I needed to go somewhere I just kept it above 5k and adjusted the idle to compensate.
After replacing the FPR the bike worked great, up until today it appears to misfire under load. It also seems that the amount of load needed to cause a miss decreases as the bike is ridden, to the point where even revving the bike was too much load.
This happens after about 20 minutes of riding at around highway speeds, the air temp was in the low 60s and the temp guage never goes above the first tick signifying normal operating temp.
My initial though was the spark plugs since I’ve had load based misfires beforehand on another bike, but never tied to how long the bike has been running. I also thought that as the battery voltage decreased when it was dying that it may have taken other components with it.
If anyone has any experience with this issue or ideas of how to test the components so I don’t just start replacing things that would be great.
