Will a 900rr rear rim fit on a F2 swinger..?
Hey kids... I have a 93 F2 with white rims and I've been looking for an F3 rim so I can run a little bigger tire but no F3's had white rims like mine..
but 900rr's did and it was designed with a 180 tire in mind so yippie.. yes yes... I know its going to slow down the handling somewhat... I'm fightering the bike anyway so high speed cornering is not such a huge concern. Just wondering if its doable... I was told I need the hub of a VF500, the right spacers and it should bolt right up.. can anyone confirm..? anyone try this mod..? thanks! Kaz |
i run a 180 on my f2 with a stock wheel np. looks like it would even hold 190.

I don't want to do that because its pinching the tires sidewalls and when under lateral stress (cornering) it deforms easily.. (you crash) so I'd rather avoid that route if possible and get a rim designed to hold a 180 tire.
thanks though and be careful taking the turns Kaz |
right. my bikes down 3inches or so, so i cant dive down to too far any way. i understand what your saying though.:icon_doh:

search
try a search in the F2 section, you prolly find what you need.

the rim will never fit the stock swingarm. It's a full inch wider than the f2 wheel. What's this business about fighters not being for high speed cornering. That is pretty much the whole point of a fighter. They sure as hell aren't for high speed runs on the salt flats, educate yo self foo.

Attachment 61637 http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/867...9361068405.jpg http://www.customfighters.com/forums...df5a11646a.jpg could they run at the track..? sure... is that would its designed for.. no.. same here bud... the handling I lose by putting a bigger rim on is not going to effect me in any huge way because honestly, I'm not pushing the bike that hard... |
wait
if your not going to be cornering fast put it on the stock wheel, besides its a 600, i mean really man. and dunlop has no problem with putting a 180 on an f2 or a 190 fzr 100 (came with a 180) and my buddy rides his from sidewall to sidewall. if ya still dnt understand call a tire rep. changing wheels and swingarms etc just to ride a a tire that will fit on stock wheel. . . come on kinda lame and a waste of time. besides didnt you say you didnt wana use the wheel becauase of cornering, then your saying you not gona corner hard? lost. . . :icon_no:

Yeah , I'm kinda lost too. I usually don't count the german bikes anyhow, because they are really weird and gaudy.

You guys do know that the only ones who can really tell a big difference is a pro rider on a closed course, I have seen some stretched and lowerde bikes run some decent numbers at the tracks, nothing spectacular but better than the average Joe could run on a tricked out race bike!!
