Trade it in and get your own 1000rr. J/K. It's gonna be hard to keep up with the 1000, you could get him in the twisties and outride him, but other than that you're pretty much gonna have to shell out some big dough to make your 600 have that kind of power. In the straights there's no replacement for displacement.

I doubt you need a 1000RR to do it. Install one of these jet kits and he'll be eatin ****. It'll help.

Sure to beat him with that installed properly. Probably not for the shade tree mechanic.

You need to define keep up. Are you talking about straight lines, twisties, basic street rides? In a straight line and basic blasting around the streets, you are going to be hard pressed to do that, even with mods, and by the time you invest that much in your bike, it would be cheaper to buy your own 1krr. In the twisties, if you got more skill than your bros, you should be able to keep up if not beat them there. Success in the Twisties on a modern sportbike is ALL about skill.

I do question how ***** to wall your bro's go now; the 600 isn't a slow bike by any stretch of the imagination; and i ride with a mixed group of bikes, everything from ducati's and aprilias, to busa and zx12's, once on the road it tends to split into 3 groups...us insane riders up front, the middle bunch, and those in da rear....it really isn't related to their bikes, more their skill and courage. Even up front we have 600's; one guy has a triumph sprint 600...guys a total nut, but one hell of a rider, he pushes his bike farther than i do, and that keeps him up to speed (until i blow by him in a straight)....before i'd worry about keeping up, and modding up, i'd recommend skilling up....work on your ability to ride what you have to as much of its limit as you are willing to go, and what's safe not only for you, but those around you. Keep it vertical and ride as often as you can....you'd be really surprised what your bike can do.

I do not ride with pros of any stretch of the imagination but I ride my 95 CBR 600F3 like I stole it. I installed a stage three jet kit and full D&D pipe. Mybuddy has a GSXR1000 and we raced from a stand still, we stade side by side until I hit my top end, which of course then he walked off and left me but only after I hit top end. I have to say that I red line every shift when I am racing someone. I have not been left in the dust by anyone since I put the jet kit and pipe on the bike. This is just my two cents
