Default New tail section

I have been searching and reading until my eyes started to burn. I want to know what newer style tail section will fit on a 1996 F3. Something more sleek looking and be about to have two seperate seats like the F4I's have. I love that look and the ability to install and remove the solo seat cowl whenever you want.

Thanks,
Jay

I just purchase a CBR 600RR tail from ebay and I am going to play around with that. I have a picture that I go from the internet and a picture of a F2 with a F4I tail.

i am doing a 600rr tail swap onto my f1, and i tried to use a 95 f3 fender, but it wont fit with the storage thingy. the frame may be shaped a little different on the f3, so i am not sure. but in my situation the tail of an 04 rr would not fit. as far as those bikes, especially the red one, look at those unsighlty gaps between the front lowers, tail, and tank....that look is absolutely horrid.

what year f4i tail? and i am assuming that you have to drill holes near the tank on the frame for the tail. is this right? also where do you attach the rear section of the tail to the frame. by buddy at work has a F4i and sitting side by side it doesnt look like the tail will fit on my F3. anyone that has done this please help also post some pictures.

Thanks,
Jay

You will have to modify the subframe. The only other way to do it is to get someone that is uber at welding. Get an F4i subframe. Cut the factory subframe off. Fabricate some mounts for the F4i subframe (due to the factory f2/f3 being welded steel and the F4i being bolted on aluminum) and weld the mounts to the frame. Then just bolt on the F4i subframe and rerun all the wires.

both bikes in the attachment above are using stock F3 sub-frames. so i guess there is no need to swap to a F4i sub-frame. ????

Cutting off your subframe of your F3 is the wrong idea. Just mount the tail up as best as possible.
