Mod for a modern sports bike position?
Hi all, as you can see i am a new member. I bought recently a CBR 600 F 87, my earlier bike was a Kawasaki 636 Ninja 05. I find the body position of the CBR not so much to my liking. Is there a way to get a more modern sports bike position? i have already lowered the clipons hoping that who'd do the trick, tho the pegs are still not to my liking. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

First of all welcome to the forum!
There are aftermarket race rearsets out there, haven`t seen a set for the mk1 but I guess I just haven`t looked hard enough, (or at all to be exact...) but be prepared to pay a pretty penny for them, for f2:s and later models they are like 170+ USD a set. Someone here could know if a set from some other bike would fit too...

Well, you already have the '54 tail on there - so you know about swaps. I'd put some USD's with radial brakes on it. Then I'd find a way to raise the rear a little bit - maybe through dog bone or shock linkage. I would measure the distance between the two holes for the rear sets and then troll the internet for swaps. You never know what may work.
If you did those few things: it'd be very close to a modern sport bike ergonomically
Welcome to the forum btw. I would put up a thread for your bike in the fighter section. Talk about what you've done. It'd give others who are looking for information, inspiration, ideas, etc. a big help.
What tank is that?

not sure about the 97 model but i was able to swap out the top shock bolt on my 2001 with a 2004 . the 04 has a longer bolt so i was able to add washers under the bolt to raise the rear end. if i recall correctly the linkage ratio was 3:1. so i added about 3/8" of shim to get almost 1" of rear ride hight. even if u had to get a bracket modified so u could extend the shocks length, it will work.
hope this helps.
