Is it hard to switch from analog to digital cluster
 

I was just wondering how difficult it would be as far as wiring goes. I am in the process of modding my F1 into a street fighter and I want a digital instrument cluster. There just seems to be a crap load of wires that I would have to deal with. Anyone that's done this before have any advice and howto's would be great.

i think there is a write up on here that adds f4i gauges to the f2 i think. the problem is the mechanical speedo drive...i think you need one from a different bike to make it work. but search the forums for f4i to f2, or gauges...

If you are picking up a Vapour or other new digital gauge it shouldn't be a big deal.

The speedo part uses a magnetic pickup that mounts to a fixed point (front forks or swingarm) and has a magnet that is glued to the wheel. You program in your tire circumference and you are done.

The tach portion (as well as lights for the signals, oil, neutral, etc.) require you to splice the wires to the new unit. Pretty simple to do. The instructions that come with the new unit are pretty easy to follow. If you can do simple wiring, you shouldn't have any problems.

The wires on your current cluster are easy to identify.
