F4i/RR body conversion

13 Attachment(s)
Figured I would share what I've gotten done. The bike is a 91 F2, F4i front end, and a 07+ tail. Figured I would go with that tail due to everyone else choosing the 03 to 06. I painted the bike myself, The base coat is a metallic silver, and the first layer of clear has some burnt copper flake in it to give it a little extra.
In order to fit the tail on and make it look decent, I had to clip the bottom of the subframe, bend it up about 25 degrees and welded it in along with making a triangualr brace for extra strength since I do ride with a passenger from time to time.
I've also include the price that I payed for everything too since a lot of people have asked that question in the other f4i conversion threads. When searching for the parts I took my time and waited for good deals. Any questions, or if anyone needs any pointers I would be glad to help.

Still have some of the wiring to finish up, install the steering dampener, and the 900RR sensor/cover is on its way.

Let me know what you think!:icon_bike:

Great job and I always wondered what parts could be used for the
F2 to allow the use of the F4I gauges. Keep up the good work Bro.

The front fender doesn't look right for the rest of the body. Then that just my taste.

where did you put the battery, and all the wiring that was on the subframe?

bambam 02-07-2011 01:32 PM

cool swap dude..

Thanks guys,

Miller, I was thinking the same thing, I'm hoping to find one locally that I can compare how they mount up between the f4i and the f2 forks... I don't want to buy one online then not be able to make it fit lol

Tim, the battery, main section of harness by the battery box, and the R/R are in the factory location. The ignition box is relocated under the passenger seat, I'll put some pics up shortly.

Yea, everything but the temp sensor, I had to shell out 50 bucks from honda for that one:icon_emm: the rest just came from shopping around a lot to find good deals. The only thing that are not on the list above is the speedohealer, I picked that up for 80 shipped.

Here's a few updated pics.
