F3 mixture screw setting?
 

Finally got frankenbike going! It's a 92 converted to 98 drivetrain and electronics. I cleaned the carbs and noticed the screws were 2.5 turns out, I thought I read somewhere they are supposed to be 1.5-2. I put them at 1 3/4. Does anyone have experience running the shorter f2 intake boots and tuning the f3 carbs? It runs pretty good but could be better I think.

If you want to be dead on, there isn't an exact amount of turns. What you need to is hook up an accurate tach, start the bike, get it warmed up. Then one at a time, adjust each screw until the max RPM is achieved. Then back it off by 50 RPM. Repeat with the other 3. After each time, I adjust my idle knob to get everything back at 1,200.

No two bikes are the same and can be very different. I'd put them back as they were and see how it performs. You could strike it lucky and the previous set up may have been sweet. If not, then it's tickling the screws as hamlin6 suggested. It can be frustrating but when you get it right it's a satisfying moment. Feel like a "tuner" lol
