Two Brothers on the way but.....

Hello all. I have ordered a Two Brothers slip-on for my 07RR which should be here later today. I was reading through the installation instructions on their website and it says you have to use the stock oem heat shield. But when i took my whole rear fender off and put my plate underneath the tail, the stock heat shield was hanging down over the muffler so i removed it, (the stock rear fender assembly previously covered it)....so what do i do? Anyone with a two brothers experience the same thing I'm going thru?

I didn't bother with any heat shields on my 05 - just hides the CF.

so far my expierience with the 2 bro carbon slip on is, it will never get hot enought to melt any of the plastic that is underneath it. i men i can go out and ride for about 2-3 hours and then park it and touch the can. you would never be able to do that with the stocker on there. i wouldnt worry about the heat shield, its ugly anyways.

Wow. It does look ten times better without that ugly heat shield. I was unaware of how much of the can you are actually able to see! Thanks guys!

fishinride without the heat shield does your rear tail move a little? i installed the two bros and left out the heat sheild but there are a lot of bolts that hold the rear tail more secure to the sheild and without it its a little loose...?
do you have this problem?

Nope - the tail is very secure. If I remember, only one bolt goes from the OEM heat shield to the tail - centerline on the bike.

Just make sure you've got all 4 of the allen bolts under the solo cowl/passenger seat installed.
