Track bike batteries

I have an F4i track bike. I am currently working on an undertail exhaust and new sub frame. I want to get rid of the big, stock battery because a) it is big and in the way. b) it is heavy and c) I dont think the bike needs that big of a battery, seeing as I dont have headlight, tail light, turn signals and stuff. Does anyone have a recommendation for a smaller battery? Something lighter and easier to locate? Maybe a solid one so it doesnt have to be oriented in a particular direction?

Thanks!

The only thing I could recommend is going to walmart and buying a small lawn mower battery and use that.

however how much wieght are you really gonna save for the reduction in cranking amps?

Well, it is not really the weight, it is mostly the size. I am doing an undertail exhaust and so I need some of the room that the battery is currently using to run my exhaust pipe. And also, cranking? I dont really care, it is track only, so if I cant get it to crank, I will just bump start, ha. I just want the battery to be enough to keep it running.

save yourself the hassle and buy a 100rr subframe with battery box and all...

from here you can model your new subframe using the 1krr subframe measurements, the 1k rr has a undertail pipe so the battery box is placed to accommodate for that...

Ok, cool, I will check out a 1000rr swingarm, never thought of buying the whole thing.

Check out these batteries here Motydesign.com. They are lithium A123 and are lighter and have more power then a regular battery. Also they look really small.

^+1

The motydesign ones are what most people use on racing bikes that I have seen.
