RE: tires please

All tires have the recommended PSI stamped on the sidewall of the tires.

ORIGINAL: Blue Fox

All tires have the recommended PSI stamped on the sidewall of the tires.
that is not the recommended psi
that is the max psi for that tire.
honda manuals recommend psi based on the max load that the bike can carry.

i know for the 120/180 on the 600 30psi (app) in each tire is average.
the only way to know for sure what is right for your tire is to use the 5psi rule
check yoiur tires cold, then ride. as soon as you get back check again. if they have gained right at 5psi then they pressure is right. less than 5 means you had too much air, more than 5 means not enough air.

at least that is what the michelin rep told us at the last track day.

Yep, check the owner's manual for the reccomended pressure.

Too high and your tires won't grip well, and are more likely to get punctured.

Too low and they will overheat, causing catastrophic failure of the sidewall (eventually)

I am oviously stating worst case scenarios based on a significant deviation from the reccomended pressure in either direction.

Also qualify "crazy" when you turn.
Head shake?
Loose rear?
either end feel spongy (like the tire carcass is flexing too much)
either end feel too stiff and bouncy, almost brittle, like it wants to break loose
Vague steering feedback?
Vibrations?

Might help to troubleshoot/diagnose the problem

check your alignment, and wheel balancing as well (make sure you didn't loose any balance weights from the wheel)
