PAIR blockoff recommended for this build?

I've got some conflicting information regarding this, so I figured I'd come to you guys, since I seem to get some pretty straight answers around here.

I've got an 07 CBR600RR with a gutted intake (all the baffles removed), K&N filter and a Yoshimura RS-5 slip-on. I've got a power commander PCV, but haven't gotten it installed yet.

I have some sources saying I should block off the PAIR intakes (smog valves, whatever) in order for enough air as possible to get to the engine fast enough. The downsides I see are that there may be some backfiring in the exhaust, and the entire thing might be a complete waste of time.

I use the bike on the highway for mostly, high speeds/high RPMs, occasionally for long-distance trips.

Should I bother doing this mod?
