Help! Bike Accelerates Wierd

Well, this is my first post in the 600rr world. As of yesterday I bought an 03 600rr. It has quite a few good mods already as well as only having 7000 miles. Anyways, I was told that it has a Powercommander. He said it was under the seat and the seat was bolted down and I didn't have a wrench to check.

Long story short, I can't find the PC anywhere.

So my problem is that when accelerating it accelerates in increments of about 2k RPM's. Kinda chugging. Also, when going a constant speed it just sits there and bounces up and down.

Can I just buy a PC and tune it with that or do you guys think I might have a worse problem? Really hoping that that's all I need to do.

One other note, the chain is extremely loose. It still seems to spin fine but would this be a cause of my goofy acceleration?

I'm pretty ticked off at this point as I was blatantly lied to about it.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Wait, you didn't test ride before you bought?

I did. I was just told that the pc needed to be remapped. Obviously should have asked a few more questions. But that's the past and I own it now so I'm trying to figure this out. Lol.

Start by fixing what you know is wrong. Chain tensioned/replaced if needed.

Power commander

If indeed this bike has a power commander, it will connect between the bikes ecu (computer) and harness. If the ecu has a y harness, simply disconnect it and plug your harness into the stock ecu. If not I am sure someone around here can help.

It definitely needs to be replaced, as well as the sprockets. So I have a chain and sprocket set on the way. Should be here this afternoon.

Update! After replacing my chain and sprockets she runs like a dream! No chugging or anything!

Good to hear. Always start with the simple things.
