Exhaust for 95 CBR600F3
 

Hey everyone, im looking at getting a pipe this summer but I dont wanna pay a arm and a leg. I found a two brothers but I have no idea what type it is other than that, model wise. The guy said the exhaust tip is like 2.25". The pipe is coming off a 97' but I guess the pipes will fit from '91-'98. Just double checking thanks guys in advanced. Ive listened to pipes online and I guess my ear doesnt hear the difference. I know D&Ds are supposed to sound like harleys, and two brothers have a good rep. What about vance and hines. I wanna get something used but I want to have a better chance of not being ran over in the city.

Anyone know what the HP increase is on the D&D pipes. Seems yoshimura pipes are claiming a 5 HP gain. I like the sound of D&Ds but i cant really hear the difference between stock and others. I want everyones opinions.
Is delkevik a newer brand of pipe? Im not familiar with that

Any pipe that claims a power increase will also require tuning the bike. You need to change the jet-sizes to match the increase in flow through the engine. Best done on a dyno. A lot of times, modifications that increase top-end HP will result in loss of low/mid-range torque. There's no free lunch and you have to determine if that is worthwhile. You may be faster at the track, but the bike won't be as nice around town.

I don't need to tune my bike if I'm going for a sound right? I like the power I have I just wanted a different sound. Will riding it wo a jet kit not be good f

Probably be ok but you can plug chop to check. But .... it is quite possible it will not run as well and lose power without a re-jet. Some pipes are designed to not need jetting.

I hate to be the one to bear bad tidings, but any exhaust that would make a difference to someone in a cage with their radio/CD player going, never mind yakking on a mobile phone, to hear you coming, will be way too loud for the po-po's and get you pulled over for noise. Most pipes don't really start to "growl" until you get into the rev range, and around town that doesn't happen that much, unless you're on and off the throttle like a tart in a brothel :eek:.
A great pipe is a wonderful sound to hear, but if you only want the sound, bore a couple of holes in the rear of your slip on, and keep going until you're happy. Cars only hear you when you're so close they will see you anyway, you'll be that close, if they hit you the pipes won't really help.
Don't forget you leave the sound of your bike behind you, it doesn't get projected forwards (doppler effect) and the exhausts are facing the wrong way to really have an effect.
And as has been said, you will need the bike to be tuned for the pipe and will lose out in one performance area or the other. Life's like that, sad to say.
