^^^ ... The stock steering damper is electronic with no adjustments. Personally, I believe they are perfect for street use. However, if you plan on tracking the bike, I would recommend an aftermarket adjustable one.

I've heard that the "Stock" dampner is amazing, even on the track. The only time I've heard of anyone needing (and by that I mean "wanting") to replace it is if it's a 100% dedicated track machine and they ride it hard, real hard. The automatic adjustment of the stock one makes it very nice for street riding.

Would the 08dampner fit on an 06 cbr600? If so would it be any more difficult to install than an aftermarket one?

i was just asking because, i am a beginner rider and really havent pushed my bike yet, but with time and experience I am scared of wheelie the bike and having tank slapping with the stock damper.

It wont work. There is no circuit on the 06 to hook it up to and function, since its electronic.

No worries then mate! ... As Lrn said... The stock damper is a good piece of equipment to have. Unless you are dedicating your machine to track, you'll be fine. I learned on my '07 and the damper has saved my a$$ on more then one occasion from the accidental wheelie/rock in a turn/etc
