cbr600rr easy quick action throttle

Hi guys - new to the forum but thought I'd share something I found a few months ago :icon_razz:

I bought an hrc quick action throttle for my 2007 cbr 600rr and when It came to fitting it I was shocked by the poor quality of the throttle tube. The lug that you clip the cable broke off as soon as I looked at it so I'm stood in the garage with the bike in bits wondering what to do.

I had a throttle tube from my previous bike (2008 zx6r) and when I compared it to the hrc part is was only very slightly smaller. The short version is that if you want a quick action throttle for a 2007 600rr (and probably the other years of the same shape) buy a standard throttle tube for the 2007-2008 zx6r and it fits straight into the standard throttle housing with no modification to anything, cable ties or risk of death in a huge flame ball.
The throttle response is much better than the standard part too :)

will this work on the 05 rr's as well?

Hey Mark1200, nice to see another guy local to me, do you go to Shannonville? The throttle tubes on the 05 & 07 are exactly the same so this would work for the 05's as well. I have heard about using a Yamaha throttle tube which brings the wrist action down significantly. I cant remember where I seen it but I could try and dig it up for you if you want?

i used the ri on my 2001 cbr but it needed some filing to get it to work. looks like the 2008 zx6r would be a better option. yes my friends and i rent the shanny track some evenings and have some fun. have u ridden with the take on the track group in the past/ i road with them when they rented the track. where do u live?

I have actually never rode on the Shannonville track yet, been there many times but not riding myself. I live right in Belleville. My brother and I recently bought a 99 F4 and are going to spend the winter getting it setup. I will probably setup a project thread for it shortly. I have a 600rr for the road and my brother rides a gsxr. Have you heard of Quinte West Sport Bike Riders?

i have a 2000 f4 and a 05rr in my garage for track days only. i'm pulling the forks on the 05 to change the oil today.
r u setting the 99 up for the track ? if so u will want some rearsets as the stock ones r too low and forward. i have some used wolfcraft rearsets from my 2001 f4i. not sure if they r exactly the same as the 99's. if u r interested let me know and we can do some measurments. i have not heard of Quinte West Sport Bike Riders, but i am not from the area. i live in Cobourg.

The 99 is going to be strictly for the track. Yeah I'd probably be interested in the rear sets as I said we are just starting the bike, bought it in Kingston and he had intentions of setting it up for track but didn't finish it. I will check and see if the stock rearsets stayed the same for 99 and 01. The guy i bought the bike off told me about the quinte west sport bike riders group, it is on facebook and you have to be invited but they apparently do a bunch of track days at Shannonville, I thought you might have been out with them before.

I can tell the rider positioning on the 99 is a huge difference compared to 600rr, atleast comparing factory setups

let me know if there r any questions. id be happy to help u out any way i can.
I'll look up the quinte west sport bike riders group.
thanks for the tip.
