just wondering if this mod affects the running, jetting or fuel consumption of the hurricane. I would like to improve the sound of my bike without going to the expense of new pipes (I am totally skint!).

Some people say 3 holes each side, others say 4. I imagine 4 gives more noise but it just concerns me about the possible effect on fuel consumption (again, I am skint!!!)

Talking

Here is mine with four holes drilled out. There is no jetting involed, but depends if you drill out the whole thing. The only fuel mileage you lose is when you keep reeving it up to here it.

grim, mine still runs like a raped ape and idles fine with 4 holes.
My gas mileage always suffers... but that's because of my wrist more than anything on the bike.
