I don't know about ur bikes but my 07 1000RR just seems like it runs really rich from the factory. I have a yoshi slip on exhaust on it but even before that it just seemed rich. I always smell like exhaust after I ride. I don't know if a power commander would help or not. Any suggestions would be great.

yes they run a tad rich .... its NORMAL ...

 

I figured its normal but its annoying that I stink of exhaust like crazy after riding lol.

 

you woudl ratehr be rich then lean... trust me lol

get a PC3 and tune it down a tad ..

if you have a slip on and you want it to really run sick ... (although it will be still "RICH") put a full system map on a bike with a slip on .. it will run like a raped ape

 

the smell of exhaust really wont go away that much even if you lean it down. its just a side effect of having an undertail exhaust. It wraps right back up at you as you go down the road. But yeah, I have the same setup as youon my 05 and it runs a bit rich.

 

I think pretty much any bike you ride you're going to smell like exhaust. It's like mowing the lawn and having that smell of gas/oil/grass all over every bit of your clothing.

 

I agree, but it seems that the undertail exhaust causes more of it to come back on you versus the side mount. Your bodycreates a swirl effect behing you. This is where the exhaust gets pulled back onto your body. the side mounthas air flowing directly over it letting it be taken away from the rider instead being sucked back onto the rider.

I dont really notice it too much, I notice my hat that I slide into the rear seat's strap gets really nasty though. Plus, my taillight needs constant cleaning to keep it clear.

It doesnt really matter to me, I love my undertail exhaust.

 

i started noticing this several years ago with my 04 VROD. i had never smelled it on me before and just thought it was the HD. then when i bought my 06 1000rr i noticed it a bit worse. i found out it is because of the undertail exhaust. now with the 08 1000rr having the low slung exhaust on the side i figured it would go away. WRONG. i think it is a combination of the bike exhaust and the exhaust of the vehicles you travel behind/next to.
