Default Flapper mod '06-'07

I just wanted to make sure this is the right hose to disconnect. The orientation is different than the pictures provided on www.hooliganbiketech.net . BTW, the picture is fuzzy because it's a camera phone inside my garage. Thanks.

that looks like the one. It should run to a round (I believe its called a "diafram") device. The hose is connected to a nipple like piece on the round diafram. Wriggle (gently wriggle) it offa that nipple, plug it,and secure it. The pic on hooligans is a lil different as that was an 05' REPSOL I belive. U can do it w/o removing the fairing but it's easier to mount/secure it w/ zipties with the fairing off.

a friend just had the flapper completely removed, and like hooliganbiketech seyz, it is a chore, as the radiator has to be dropped and all kindsa hinden screws. It'll take some time and serious commitment and the only difference between plugging and complete removal is about a pound (maybie less), no performance diff. Which is why I just plugged it.

I removed mine completely without dropping the radiator.....but it will never ...ever go back on. The flapper is very brittle plastic and if you grab and twist with a pair of pliers it will come out in several pieces. Not the best way to do it but it worked. The diaphram and hoses were a piece of cake though.

LMAO, that sounds scary, I luve my precious to much to ripe parts of her off with pliers. Did u take off any of the fairings to do this? did u utilize the technique of grabbing and twisting with a pair of pliers to git the diaphram off? Not bustin *****, just curious. after thinking about it, as I saw my friends after it had been removed, it was kinda brittle.

you cannot take the diaphram off unless you plug the giant hole in the intake where it was sitting

just unplug the hose out of the gold flying saucer looking diaphram on the airbox and call it good

(just make sure you cap the hose off)

Now that you've done all that work, you might as well get an A-Tech intake.

or you can do like i did and take the intake apart to do the pair mod
then again to take out the flapper stuff
then again to do the hrc mod
then again to put in an atech
by the last time i had the old intake off and new on in 15 mins
