Bazzaz tuning for top end - Rich or Lean
 

I have a 2011 CBR1000rr accompanied with the
Bazzaz
Z-Fi,
Z-Afm,
Z-bomb
Two Brothers exhaust
Bmc air filter

I've been tuning it recently and it rides like a banshee through the midrange, which is already characteristic of the CBR, but I'm trying to increase the top end.

The latest tune is set to 13.0, which felt better than 13.2, and I'm about to try it at 12.8.

Is anyone familiar with the air to fuel ratio on Hondas, especially on the top end?

If anyone has some good experience with the positive or negative consequences of rich or lean mixtures as it relates to Hondas, and more specifically (2008-2011 cbr1000rr's), it would be greatly appreciated

I'm hearing that it might be best to lean it out on the top end, but I'm not sure.

simplified response: u want to go lean, always, to a point just before detonation. That is where u achieve the most power. U r going DOWN in A/F Ratios, therefore making it richer and increasing fuel, typically resulting in a loss of power. You A/F Ratios should be between 13.5-14.2 throughout the rpm range.

I have an '08 1000RR with a Bazzaz. The dyno shop tuned mine for a 13.7 AFR, which seems to work pretty well.
