2006 cbr1000rr blinker & integrated tail light problem.

i ordered hotbodies flushmounts and a lockhart intragted blinker tail light for my 2006 cbr1000. i wired the flushmounts the green wire to black the orange to red on one side and the blue to red on the other the running lights where not used. the tailight plugs into the black stock wire then the orange wire goes to the orange on the stock wiring and the blue to the blue. they worked for a few seconds then for some reason it blow a fuse. after i installed everything i look on the boxes they came in and it said there for a 2004 to 2005 cbr1000. my bike is a 2006. is that why they wont work or are they universal. pleaase help.

How did you wire it up? Every crimp creates resistance/heat and that could be the cause of your blow outs. Try using some quick connect adapters from Radio Shack. Beyond that, I'm not sure of the wiring on that particular bike, but make sure your grounds are solid as well.

i cut the plugs off the stock blinkers then spliced the wires to the new blinkers
