Daym... I looked up on the NuViz... now I really want one! The pricetag is gonna be pretty darn steep at 650eur but it's a whole lot more than just a holographic speedo. It displays satnav, incoming calls, music player etc etc, and I think it'll actually look the part with my new helmet I bought just yesterday. Add a bluetooth intercom and I don't have to remove the lid before going to bed

And guess what's the best thing? Their product developement branch has recently been moved... to Salo, Finland! They're currently pitching the idea at Slush 2015 startup exhibition in Helsinki. Currently the expected release date's gonna be around christmas '16.

Wonder if they're looking for beta testers...

They were at one point. I'm just glad to hear the idea isn't dead. $650 does sound steep, until you see what used OEM gauges can go for. If you want a '12 1000rr gauge, its over $450.

And look at what all you get. Its a cam recorder that has a much better profile than a GoPro. Bluetooth. Sat-Nav.

So I don't think its going to be a bad deal.

Still waiting for the head, guys.... Should be available this coming week.

Then I think I'm sending the head off to Pro1. New valve guides, seals, seats, etc. Demon, you may have heard of the guy who runs it - Short Block Charlie - he's famous in the big twin world for head work. Pro1 is his metric bike machine shop. Not sure if I want to do only guides and seats.... I may do some other stuff, but I'm waiting to have that discussion until I get my head back from the welder....

Got the head back today. Right now, the air gap on the rotor is .065in. The welder knew about my project and wanted to give me room to shave it off and move it in closer.

Hard to tell on that last one, but that's the prong on the rotor facing the sensor.

Not bad for $100. It opened up a big hole in the casting, he had to fill that in, then he machined the part he cut off, measured and rewelded it in place.

Also talked to ShortBlock Charlie today. I gave him some info and asked him what he thought I should do for the best bang for buck. He told me to call him tomorrow, he was going to do some research on the 954 head and said i could probably send it and a place a work order tomorrow.

I've also lost quite a bit of weight over the last year and a half (50lbs), did some recalculating and realized that I was off on my rear spring by...a lot.

I now have a 900lb spring on the shock (vs the 850 stocker) and I should be good. And according to racetech, with my bike's weight plus my body's weight, the stock zx14 forks are exactly what they suggest for my forks. (Didn't realize this before ditching the 1000rr folks, but I did get lucky)

great looking job.
Also, many congrats on the weight loss, that is if it was intended and not due an illness.

No illness, I just thought putting all of this time, money, and effort into the bike was stupid if all I was going to do was get bigger and bigger.

I've lost the weight, but I'm by no means skinny. I was getting to be 260lbs, and now I'm 205lbs. And I can't say its from exercise, its eating less and drinking less (which I needed to do anyways).

Great work. I'm on that path as well, but not yet where you are. I knew I needed to do something last year when I was riding and I really couldn't lay on my tank like I should. That would be kind of funny if it weren't true.
Keep up the effort.

You too Hamlin, its a grind for sure. You'll get there. My moment of recognition was when I saw a pic of myself on that 600rr. My first thought was "who is that fatass on my bike?! And how'd he get my jacket and helmet?!"

aww man i know those feels! haha I'm a fan of the 2 weeks stay in hospital, morphine and just incapable of eating diet. worked well for me that time dropped just shy of 10kg in 2 weeks wouldn't recommend it though

hows the build coming along man? I've barely had any time to mess with any of mine for far too long.
