And its 1600cc, now, right? That's huge, doesn't surprise me you say that when there's that much torque involved...
My engineering buddy and I were talking about Beemers. He said he couldn't get passed the inherent flaws in the boxer's design, which is the crank being parallel to the road instead of perpendicular like most bikes. He said that they cannot handle left and right hand corners equally due to the centrifical force the crank has while running.
Thoughts?I think its a good point, but I've never ridden one, so I don't have experience with it.

I had a R1100RT , he's correct , definitely torque reaction with throttle through the corners , but you can use it to your advantage at times too . Having said that , I thought it was the best handling bike I'd ever ridden , , especially on Australia's poor quality back roads . Also the boxer design held the weight nice and low in the chassis , the balance was beautiful .
