Funny. We used to push start them in a different but no less retarded kind of way. One of us would ride as a passenger backwards on the bike we needed to start, we'd lean out and push against the front faring of a bike that pulled up behind us to give us a push. The bike behind us would start pushing us and away we'd go, with the backwards passenger acting as a buffer between the two bikes.. Amazingly we never had any problems doing it this way. Even pushed a bike that just wouldn't start about 2 miles to one of our garages this way. Yeah, we were pretty bright, but hey, seemed like a good idea at the time.
