Default Average MPG on F4i?

I am in the market for a new bike and love the style and look of the 600rr but I'm also looking for something that gets some what good gas mileage. I saw and have read a little about the f4i and was wondering what kinda of mpg you get. I know a lot of people ride there bikes hard and I do occationaly but I use my bike right now for the good mpg.

So what mpg do you get? Any better than the 600rr?

The F4i does indeed get better mileage than the RR (remember the RR has 8 fuel injectors instead of 4). My F4i usually averages 40mpg consistently for normal everyday riding, though it varies quite a bit depending on how hard or easy you ride it. I've had as high as 47mpg while taking it easy and going slow (~60mph), then I've had it as low as 29mpg running 150-160mph for most of the tank

My bike is brand new (350 miles) and I've only checked the mileage once so far.

41 mpg

Duel injectors doesnt necessarily mean worse fuel economy, the secondary injectors only kick on at high rpms, so if you keep the revs down the RR shouldnt really get that much worse gas mileage than the f4i. If you like the RR better you shouldnt get an f4i instead just because it gets 3-5 more mpg, at the most. The f4i is probably a better street bike though, but I happen to like the riding position of the '05 RR. You seem to be in more control and over the steering head, where as on the f4i it seems as if the front end rides high. I'd get an RR over my f4i if I had the choice. I put $10 or less in a tank and it lasts me 5 days of commuting. During that time I go to work, school, girlfriends house, and do midweek and weekend fast rides. Over time manufacturers tend to develop ways to use fuel more efficiently, so newer bikes such as the RR shouldnt get that bad of mileage.

On my 02 F4i, I get between low 30's and 50 mpg. 30-40 mpg = constantly on and off the throttle, lifting the front wheel, taking off quickly, etc. 40-50 mpg = normal everyday riding, sensible, longer trips on highways, etc.

Probably pretty much the same, same engine, just different injection. I can get in the 50's if I keep out of it commuting. Cold weather mileage is worse. I added a power commander, and have not checked mileage since, will have to check it.

I have the RR.... I made 47mpg on a trip before. Fill the tank up and set the trip meter. Rode until the group stopped for fuel and topped it off again. I used about 3.5 gallons... did the math and came up with 47. That was a group ride, nice and slow around 45MPH most of the time. So, my point is... the MPG varies greatly depending on how you ride. I could never see 47MPG with my weekly commute back and forth to work. I usually see about 35mph but I'm playing with new gearing...
