Would a F4i be a good starter?

You wana learn how to ride start on a cruiser if you can throw those heavy @ss bikes around then everything else is easy

I bought my first bike, a 2003 600 f4i, in March. I took the MSF course as well. I knew that getting a 600 was a good idea because I knew even before taking the MSF course that I was going to take everything slow. Watch a bunch of youtube vids of dumb ashs crashing. It keeps you in check. Then watch a bunch of vids, and read up on proper riding style.

I'm VERY happy that I didn't get a 250 as my first bike. My 600 is plenty for me now, and for the next year, then I'll move up. 1300 Busa maybe.....j/k ... in short...take your time, research, take the MSF course....know the limits of your bike, and how FAST it is!

I think it's all about how you ride. If you're smart and you learn how to ride on a f4i you'll be fine. But if you think from day one you know it all, you're just an accident waiting to happen. I started on a 600 and i've never had a problem but I respected the fact that at first I was a new rider and I didn't know it all and as I learned and you always learn something new when riding, I got more comfortable and started getting more out of my bike. Just don't think you're a pro from day one and learn what your bike can do as you learn how to ride better.
