After I put in a brief appearance at work until noon, I'm going by the bank, and gather up enough cash to cover the $4,500 to cover the
cost of that 2003 600 RR, 3k miles on the clock, on consignment/sale by one previous and I guess now too timid female owner.
If everything goes well with the testing..I'll be on my Race Replica by 5-6pm tomorrow afternoon/evening.
Whoo-hoo!!!!!!!
Damn, I hope everything is kosher with that bike. *Panting and drooling like a dog.*

bring your volt meter and test the charging system before you buy. 2003's are known bad R/R with low speed owners.

Hey cool!
Thanks for the tips. I'll have the shop run a check on that before I pay out the door.

full diagnostic of the charging system is paramount on the first generation RRs. if anything is out of spec, replace it with a 2005/2006 part. That includes the battery. have it load tested. Even a slightly bad R/R will nuke a battery fast.

Thanks again. I am going to print this out tomorrow at work, take it with me so I don't forget in all the haggling, riding, and jut plain excitement.
Any other advice, things to look out for from those in the know like knight, or present or former 03 owners would be welcome.
Post it up please!

Supposed to be good weather tomorrow, too. Sunny, but chilly at 55. Bundle up!! Wish I could go!! (Can't play hookie tomorrow).
Yeah...55...dry.
I'll be wearing my warm gear for sure.
And yeah, wish you could go as well. I'll be on my own, unless the owner or one of the shop guys goes for a spin with me on one of their bikes.

I knew once I woke up, I'd never get back to sleep just thinking about this bike...
Anyway...
Assuming everything goes well, and the bike has no mechanical gremlins, there are a lot of undetail/plate eliminators, aftermarket exhausts, and Power Commanders out there.
Recommends?

First off, I hope everything goes swell with the test ride, and you are able to pick it up. Sounds like a sweet deal with only 3k on it. I am close to the 3k mark myself, but when I bought it in June, she only have 400 miles on her and was completely stock. I, like you, was anxious as heck, and didn't sleep very well in the days prior to picking mine up. It really is a great bike.
I picked up my Yoshimura RS5 Full exhaust from sixhundredrr, and I love it.
I'm thinking about getting this eliminator, just something simple, yet very visible, and only $35.
how about this having a 06 cbr 600 and cant ride it?? all i can do is sit and look at it oh and i have all matching a-stars gear with a sweet arai helmet. which is all just sitting in the closet.
