Default will 2002 head fit on 2000

Swapping out the entire head will be much less cost than to get it torn down at a dealer, and one that is available is an 02', will it fit with no problems on my 2000 . Thanks

Yes and no. It will bolt right up (they both use the same headbolts/gasket/etc everything lines up) but the F4i head is different from the F4. It will fit with some modification, which is what I'm doing. If you can wait a bit I'll do a write up for it.

Just as a follow up, I now have a 2001 F4i head on my 2000 F4 motor. I had to drill and tap 2 holes in the intake ports of cylinders 2&3 to add vac lines, I was considering making a block off plate for the cam pulse sensor, but instead just left it in there, and moved the connector for it out of the way. Note: The cam cover is different between the F4i and F4 cylinder heads, so if you're doing this swap you'll need the WHOLE thing.

Interesting stuff, I read too on wiki that the F4i cams are timed differnetly and that the intake valve springs are doubled up. Not to mention the ports for oil have been bored out from .5mm to 2.5 mm and they increased the redline by 700 rpm as a result.
Please let me know how your F4i head performs with carbs i am interested in moding my head with an "improved" F4i head.
