Default 1000rr track bike?

I've been riding for several years now, but this year was my first year doing track days. I did several days with my 08 1000rr and now I'm HOOKED and I'm looking into getting a track bike (so I don't trash my brand new 08). I ride in the advanced groups and (very modestly speaking) I consider myself a very skilled rider. Now with that little bit of background said, here's my question:

What would make a better track bike - a 600rr or a 1000rr? Granted, the 600rr is more managable and would force me to attain fast lap times by learning better throttle control, negotiating smoother, faster turns and developing excellent late braking skills (instead of relying on liter-bike power), but do those riders who conquor all those skills still shy away from liter bikes at the track?

not that i have a lot of track experience but in my limited time on track have found that unless the track is very open and you have huge ***** a 1k is just more work for less fun. i feel the skills you gain from either will be the same. if you want to push yourself get a 250. i raced one before and i think it takes more ***** that a 1k. 600s make good track bikes 1000s make good street bikes. that being said i just bought a 1k for track days but only because i got a smoking deal on it. i will also say (have the scars)that nothing will punish you faster or harder for poor throttle control than a 1k.

Took a two day riding class at the VIR in Virginia (GREAT TRACK) in the spring on a 600 ... never needed to go further than 4th gear ... a 600rr is the way to go
