Anyone using bar risers on their CBR 1000?
What brand and any coments positive or negative would be helpfull.
I am getting arthitis in my right hand and the pain after a while in the cycle is killing me.

I just ordered the redesigned Helibars, and will post a report when I get them and install them. They are now 1 3/4" higher, 1" farther back, and 2" wider than stock, and no longer require after extended brake or clutch lines. However, the brake fluid reservoir mount must be adjusted (read bent) for the reservoir to sit level.

I would really appreciate if you post some pictures after you install the risers.
Also let me know how they feel.
Thanks

I'm also interested in your report. Just picked up a new 1000, love the power, handling, responsiveness compared with my ST1300, but at 56yrs I want to improve the comfort just a bit. New bars/risers, a seat and w/screen are probable mods over the winter.

Just got confirmation from Helibars that they shipped today - so it will be at least a week or more before I get them and get them mounted. I know I'm going to like the increase height, and the 1" back is fine too. The 2" wider kind of worries me but we'll see.

Since there is literally nothing else to choose from that I am aware of for '08 CBR1K's in terms of raising the clip-on height, I'd figured I'd try these out and if I don't like them I'll go back to stock and sell the Helibars here on the site to another '08 CBR1K owner for a small loss...

thanks for the info on the GenMars..I may look into them, although 3/4" isn't much, it's better than nothing. I've already ordered the Helibars, but am waffling about installing them - I'll see what they look like when they arrive...I've heard their quality is very good.

My Helibars should be here on Tuesday or Wed for my 08 1000rr but I can't find a 41mm socket to install them. (without paying ~$40 or ordering it and waiting a week) I may have to have the shop install them. I am also looking to relocate the footpegs down an inch. Seems like most rearsets raise them and move them back :-(

If your still looking for options you might want to check out the ConvertiBars.I have them om my 08 1k and think they are great. They give you a lot of options, with stock cables and hoses can get about 3 inches of rise. Also the Honda upgrade seat is a must have !

I wasn't aware the Convertibars worked on the '08's - will have to check it out. I've seen them on VFR's and like the adjustability they offer. The Helibars are not adjustable.

As for rearsets, I've never seen a way to move the footpegs down. There are adjuster mounting plates for the standard rearsets, but I can't find information as to what the range of adjustment is and whether 'down' is an option.
