The penske is length adjustable so I think as long as the eyes match and the lengths are in range it should be a match.

I've been looking for a Penske 8987 or 8981 and found a freshly rebuilt 8987 for HALF the price of new - but it is for the 954. I'd buy new if the cash was just sitting there...

My question is does ANYONE know if it would fit on the F4?

go to a bike salvage yard and compare the shocks. thats how i ended up with a 99 r6 shock on mine. i compared the 2 and picked what worked. cant find a taper spring. if you bought the shock you can send it to the penske and tell them do do what you want to it and be cheaper than buying a new one

 

i hear the r6 shock does wonders but i have never tried it my self

 

With the 99' R6 shock is there any mounting issues and how does it improve the handling? Firmer or more adjustment etc?
