Barber Motorsports Park - Birmingham, AL
Anyone planning to attend the Barber Motorsports Park Vintage Festival? It's a really great show on the track, around the track with bike clubs and shows, and in the museum. October 11-13.
A meet up or ride from Cincinnati- Smoky Mts.- Birmingham.

+1 I would have done the Reno ride with more lead time. I knew the Barber ride was coming up but I'm back at the grind stone.

 

OK, Barber 2014 - October 10-12 2014. Smoky's 10/8, Dragon area roads then onto Birmingham for Vintage Festival.

 

Nope! I'm in Augusta, GA working and heading to Dallas, TX on 10/9.
Maybe when you're there, you can suggest to them that you want the date moved so that I can attend.

 

You always do this - last minute - who's going to Barber ?

Ok let me start off by saying I went to work today, got there at 5am. Didn't think my route would go cause it being Columbus day and all. So all I have to pick from is a South Bend route and a Lexington Ky. route. I have never done a KY. route and didn't like who I was going to have to help in South Bend. So off I go to Lexington KY. I met up with the Driver there and went to help him. Our nest stop was south on 75 exit 59. We turn right and there is a gas station on the right and I remember when Jim and I rode down to the Dragon to meet up with Sprock and Trout. Great Times....

We finish up in Sanford Ky. and I start to head back to Indianapolis. I finally make it back to 75 and head north. As I am entering a constuction zone I look in my mirror. There is a motorcycle coming up upon me and holy $hit its a 1000F. I get all excited and all cause I like seeing when others take care of thier old girls. I get Really excited and BLOW my horn and Flash my lites at them, when I KNOW them.
Guess WHO.......................

That'd be a hoot anytime someone is ID'd out and about with their 1000F

HA HA Indy!!! I looked right at you as I went by trying to figure out what was upsetting this truck driver so badly as I went by. Yep that was me on Monday, headed back to Cincinnati from an overnite in Atlanta.

At the Dragon stop several guys praised the old gal and wished they made bikes like ours these days. Many said they may go shopping for a good condition old one too. The styling and CBR performance has stood the test of time.

After you saw me a nice guy with his son at a gas stop gushed all over my 94 thinking it was a new bike.

FOR NEXT YEAR- THE BARBER VINTAGE FESTIVAL IS THE SECOND WEEKEND IN OCTOBER. Please mark your calendars now. It is the largest motorcycle show in the world. It has the worlds largest motorcycle museum. It has all classes of vintage racing all weekend. Lets GO!
