Default Getting A Better Top Speed? (CBR 125R)

Hey hey all!
I know it's hard, but what can be done to improve the top speed of my CBR125R? My current record if 75 MPH. I have done some basic things like clean the air filter, oil chain, clean mud. Is there anything else I could do to a get a few more MPH? Thanks!

Hello and welcome Owl, think 75mph for a 125cc is pretty good, wait till you have a bigger bike for more speed and enjoy the bike you have now

Get a smaller rear sprocket. Smaller you go, the more top speed you will have. But it will be at a cost of your pep off the line.

Thanks Demon . Good Idea.
I had seen a couple of videos on YouTube explaining how to switch to smaller sprockets and why it gives a boost in speed, was very tempted to make the changes for a while, but decided I'd rather have the current setup 50/50(ish) to Speed/Acceleration and try to find other ways of improving it without the loss of acceleration. Things like losing weight, clean filters, oil chains etc.

Nothing else will noticeably improve your top end speed, unless you want to dump tens of thousands of dollars to get a Moto3 built motor. The rest of the bike would be unsafe to go that fast anyway.

The solution is obvious..... Time to step it up to a bigger bike.

Remove the mirrors and license plate & bracket. They're like parachutes on drag cars slowing you down.

Go downhill with the wind behind you

Seriously though, you're not going to get much more out of 125cc's, basically higher BHP = higher top speed.

Are you in the UK?

I used to find that laying down with my chin on the tank added about 3 mph on my old CB100N

Yes^^^^^If you had the resources you could experiment with body position. I remember reading an article in one of the popular magazines here in the U.S. & rather than just sitting in the seat & squeezing as tight into the bike as possible trying to eliminate wind drag, one of the guys figured out if he put his hind end up on the passenger seat and hunched his back just a little he could get 3mph more than any one else or himself in a different position.
