Hey guys new member from Orange County here. I have been riding street bikes since I was 18 so about 12 years now. I am currently on a 15 cbr1000rr after years of riding an 02 f4i. I am nearly 6'3'' and like to ride longer distance so I have helibars on my 1krr which has honestly felt like riding my f4i again ever since I installed them so best of both worlds. Ortega Hwy is my favorite place to ride if anyone reading this is a local. The wife and I are expecting our first child soon so I don't have any major projects planned for the bike but I have done a yoshi fender eliminator, puig double bubble smoked screen, puig rr carbon fiber rear tire hugger, Honda racing oem rear seat cowl, driven grips and bar ends, and as I said helibars. Once I can afford to buy something besides diapers again I think next step will be Bazzaz.

I'm local. In fact, I ride Ortega everyday, twice. Weather and road conditions permitting of course. Half of it is pretty trashed these days. It's 16 miles of avoiding holes and such. There are some better places to ride right around the corner....

Anyway, welcome aboard!

What do you recommend? I have ventured up to the Angeles mountains a bit but I'm always looking for suggestions on good roads.

The mountains east of the Ortega range are full of great roads. Between the 10 and 15 all the way into San Diego. You can see the area in your pic. See those mountains in the background? Go there!

Some of them are off limits until the snow melts though.

Lake arrowhead has some good summer stuff too.

Funny, my house is just out of view in your picture.

Demon I have actually heard that even just staying on the 74 after Elsinore is a good ride - will have to do some more exploring in the area for sure.

Conrice thank you very much!

The 74 goes all the way to Palm Springs.
There is also the 243, 371, 79, 76 (including Palomar mountain), and some good stuff west of the 15 in SD.

When it warms up and the snow melts, I will join you. Until then, we stick to lower the elevations.

It's a nuisance to wait for the snow to melt but it looks gorgeous while it is there!
