Nice write up & glad to hear the trip went as planned. Sounds like you have a few
tweaks planned for her. Question is the front end adjustable ? maybe she's a bit high
contributing to the "cornering stand up issue" ! ?

Sounds like a victim of linked brakes. They do that you know....

Still have lots to learn about this machine. The Duo-Lever front end is a different animal. I have read where some guys were swapping the upper link with another model to flatten the ride out. I don't think it is any more stable or effective than a good set of conventional forks.
The stand-up thing could be due to brakes?
Will try to put up some pics when I get caught up. Out for ten days put me behind.

From what I have read, your model may be linked form rear pedal to 2-left, front pistons. It is not, however, linked from front lever to rear caliper. De-linking would be much easier than the 1kF it would seem.

This bike has ABS and I wouldn't think of playing with that.

Delink and a strip of black electrical tape for the ABS warnings no guts no glory

Hell try a Honda 1000RR stick coil mod too just for chits and giggles

and hey I just remembered my 93 is 3 years overdue for that delinking event TBT !

Before I de-linked I'd drop down 2 to 3 gears, power up and push the bike into the turn and would not let off until well past the apex. This kept the bike down and on a steady line. Only well after the apex I would let off the rear and she would stand up suddenly. I hated the way it would stand up at the apex and send me up against the guardrail while linked. I hated it and came very, very close to sending it down the road, VERY DANGEROUS system.

For the beamer, the ABS and linked system may be separate, remember the front is not linked rearward so that would not effect the ABS (Edit:This LINK says front to rear is standard). I guess you'd have to look to see if there are any funny electrical wires, other than the wheel sensors, in the lines.

I thought you already took care of that. I still have the brackets I made you. I get one 6-pack for personal delivery to the state of Maine.

Two nights ago while out ridding I got thinking about extending the rear peddle about 1/2" to get better rear leverage and feel, I'm still thinking about that.

Good thoughts as it's always good for more experienced riders to extend things !

Got a six here any day of the week man plenty of screech too.

Your are 100% correct with linked brakes - don't bother using them in corners
gear down coming in and blast your way all the way out the far side

Still having pangs of seller remorse now and then....I got a text message from my buyer Friday evening thanking me for such a good bike and taking care of her as I did. Glad to know she went to a guy that loves her!
No big rides on the K1300S since I brought her home, just work commutes mostly. Next project will be to get the Corbin seat restuffed to the proper height and shape.
