Default New Racing Series

I suggest we buy up 20 or 30 of these things and start our own racing series

Top tank moped.

.....with a LeMans style start

Those things have always intrigued me as well.

It's got an actual gearbox.

It would be banned under current series regs. Sorry

About 20 years ago, here in South Australia, there was an annual Moped Marathon. I bought a couple of 2-smoke 50cc Solos and a Motebecane (as back-up) so a mate and I could participate.

We then tuned the bejeezus out of the little buggers (fuel and new plugs ) and entered the 120 (to 150) km race each year.

I have never laughed so much for so long on any other day in my life.

The sound of 50 or so angry mosquitoes having their rings revved off at the start, to slowly creeping up on the next guy in front of you at a blistering 50 to 60 km/h, crouched over the bars, grabbing their carrier and slinging yourself into the next spot. My head would hurt at the end of the race (on public roads) from laughing.

My suggestion. Do it!

Cheers, SB

It's a good solid pan helmet then if it's from Erie. Very few heads could break that one.
