Smile My Brief Hurricane History

This was my first, a 1993 French import with 24,700 miles when I bought it, kept it 15 months put 2400 miles on it & sold onto a good mate.

Only sold it because I love purple, a 1994 Japanese import with 23,500 miles and in very good condition.

Have changed rack for a Wingrack, fitted Battlax Tyres and given full service. Plan to replace 4 into 1 with standard 4 into 2 and hopefully enjoy a long life together

93 and 94 must have been a purple patch for bike manufacturers as I remember lusting after a 93 black and purple zzr1100, and I still do.

Nice looking ride!

I still have my white, purple, black and lime green full leathers from the mid 90's so it wasn't just the bikes! Always the fashion statement!

And yes, lovely CBR1000Fs PP241

Cheers, SB

It's funny that when you make comment to gear still hanging in there after so many years.
I've got t shirts that I wore before we had kids and my eldest boy is nearly 20.

He bought a jacket earlier this year and zippers broke out of it after 4 times use

Buy some shirts now they are d ad and gone in two years where our old ones are still going strong.

My boots are the same boots I've had for 30 years, religiously put bates saddle cream over them as I do with my leathers and they are still as good as new just way more comfortable

I guess our old gear wasn't made where the new stuff gets made now

Oh and the name hurricane was actually dropped from the bikes because of the fall in sales directly linked to high insurance costs because the insurance companies felt that a bike called a hurricane would mean irresponsible and poor care in the roads that would result in lots of devastation.
So what is in a name,
They dropped the name of hurricane and insurance premiums reduced so sales grew again

I have recent bought a 1995 ZZR1100 D3 in Pearl Purplish Black Mica, only because I like the colour but that's waiting for some TLC

It's amazing what motivates us old blokes.
It's been a disappointing week here as I keep getting reminded just how far away the morals of a mans word or handshake has gone.
I put an offer in on a 1955 ariel, still in rideable condition and red, the guy wanted $6000 for it which I thought it was fair, I put and offer in at $6250 as I couldn't get there until the weekend as he lived quite away from where I live. Hence an extra 250 for the trouble but I also put a deposit of 100 into his bank but silly me just put my name on the deposit rather than actually tagging it as a deposit on the bike. A guy contacted him and offered him $6500 on the day and he took it, sold the bike, now I have to fight to get my money back as he simply said my deposit was to buy an old part of another bike which is rubbish.
Where has genuine decency gone. Once upon a time a mans word actually Kent something
