It's going to be interesting for Motorcycle Riders when driver-less
vehicles take root, what ya think ?

How about the whole idea of riderless ? - makes me think of a two
wheeled can-am

Interesting topic for discussion

BBC News - UK to allow driverless cars on public roads in January

Instead of SMIDSY it will be
SMNPTMY sorry mate not programmed to miss you

Ive followed bikes that stay upright and steer around corners so for them riders it would be fine, but aint no way Im putting the machine in control when leant over under any circumstance. A malfunction or sudden change of speed could be interesting if you are not expecting it too.

Never really seen the point of "driverless cars".

"Need some milk but had a few beers, so probably really shouldn't drive."

Send my driverless car off to the local servo to buy me some milk.

Gets there using very clever GPS technology but I see issues with the car telling the usually brain dead attendant that it has turned up out of nowhere to buy me some milk.

Maybe, we're just better off with the Amazon drone helicopters.

If you flipped off a driverless car, would it get the point?

Philosophical question for the 21st Century rider

Kinda' reminds of those stories you've heard about people who crashed their cars thinking cruise control was the same as autopilot

I started to watch the video up to the point where the guy said it works on GPS.
I don't know about other people but my GPS sends me down the wrong roads. When roads are widened, they get moved. My GPS shows the old route. What happens then?

What happens in a construction zone? Will these things hit the road crew and machinery at 65 mph while you're taking a nap?

I think 2015 is the year for legalization in the states.

I think I'd rather be playing Jarts blindfolded.

You are all missing the point. Driverless cars will make us all safe. No more accidents, no speeding, no road rage. Why, it will be highway nirvana. At least until the GPS goes wonky and takes everyone down an imaginary highway, or to a dead end road in the wilderness. Or until a computer develops a glitch and decides to go its own way.

Sorry. as much as I like technology I'm not ready to surrender control of my life to a computer. Or to an 'expert' who determines what is best for me.

^ probly seen too many terrorist etc movies cause my first thought was also "what if some hacker finds their way to the central map server and does some creative road designing like a sudden 90 degree bend into a long bridge etc"

IF there would be some new roads built spesificly for this fitted with barrier sensors and whatnot then maybe... Would surely redefine the word "autobahn"...

Everyone and I mean everyone will end up behind the Wendy's burger joint off of the Southwest FWY near 288 while heading south out of Houston, TX.

So do these things pull over at a gas station or what???

^ That thing reminds me of the game Carmageddon 2 and the oh-so-wittily named character "Jenny Taylia"...
