Used motorcycle buying guide.

Haha. Sadly, I bought the first bike I saw. I worked with the guy so he knew I'd be all over him if anything was wrong with it. Didn't make me sign any "was sold as-is" contract, which is always comforting when buying a new vehicle. I ended up re-selling the bike about 6 months later for about a grand more than what I paid for it, which, in all honesty, is the reason I bought it to begin with. I knew I could make a good profit. He just wanted to pay it off. Good times.
Anyway, excellent article for new buyers. And about the test run-thing- I personally don't mind having people take a test run when selling vehicles as long as I have cash in hand and they sign a waiver, ie, they'll be responsible for any tickets that may arise, or any damages, etc. People are usually willing to sign if they're serious about buying. If not, then chances are they're just looking for a joy ride.

Used motorcycle buying guide.
- Don't buy the first bike you see. Bring a friend & a flashlight.
- Do a couple of practice inspections on friends' bikes, discuss the results.
