Fuel leak at 3 way joint from carb fuel tubes
Hey guys. I got a 99 cbr900. Just put her back together. I had taken apart and cleaned the carbs over the winter plus some other maintenance. Trying to get ready for riding here. The leaking is only at the 2 joints where the carb tubes go in to the 3 way connector. There is no leaking at the other tube (the one going to the fuel valve). Also, it only starts to leak when i start the bike. Is this a carb gasket or something? All the fuel tubes seemed to be connected tight. I tried reconnecting everything twice. Or are those fuel tubes just worn?

ok. Thanks a lot. Ill try changing both tubes. I hope its that easy. I was getting ready to sync the carbs. I have to adjust the pilots . I took them out when cleaning the carbs and forgot to count the turns!!!. I put them at their initial setting at 1 5/8. I have the factory manual that explains the procedure. It seems a little confusing but that's a whole other post when Im ready.

Items 7 and 8 are most likely the culprits. The O rings on the T's go bad and leak. Especially if carburetor cleaner got on them. Make sure you clean any corrosion off the carburetor body where they fit into as well.

But , they are only leaking on the joints where tubes 27 meet tee 25. Not anywhere else. I was going to try some small hose clamps on there. But, i just ordered the hoses since I'm not riding it anyway till the weather breaks. Partzilla is awesome by the way. I find they have the cheapest prices. The shipping is a little slow though.

Well if that's where it's leaking, then that certainly is a much easier fix. New hoses and you're good to go. Those hoses must be in really bad shape to be leaking.
Most leaks relating to the fuel supply are related to the O rings on the T fittings that connect in between the carburetors. During the cleaning process and taking the carburetors apart, the tubes and O rings get moved around. The O rings are not nearly as flexible as they were and just don't seal properly. Here's to an easy fix.
