Default Died on way to work

Made it a hundred feet from work. when slowing down it started to sputter gave it gas and died out. Put it in neutral, all the lights were still on, hit the ignition switch, and nothing. Didn't even try to turn over. Gauges dimmed a little and gas gauge went up and down but nothing else. Took the fuse out for the starter and it was fine. Tried starting it again and the starter engaged for a hair of a second and that was the last of it. Any ideas? I put in a new rectifier this summer and that fixed all the previous demons. And removed the gas pump, that died and been running gravity since but had no problems.

I wouldn't think it has anything to do with the gravity feed since the starter is barely engaging. Like Matty says, check your connections since it sounds like an intermittent issue and go from there. How long is your ride to work?

Sounds like a dead battery. Battery may be shot, it's not charging, or both.

My bad cbr f4. 1999. Just got outta work....... Started right up. This leads me to think it's the rectifier all over again

That leads me to think it's a connection.

Well I know on my F3 the 3-wire connector between the stator and the R/R was shotty.

Er... Still is. But that could be an issue.

If its sputtering try checking the fuel vent lines, if there's a kink it'll create a vacuum in the tank and your aftermarket "gravity" system won't need much vacuum to stop flow.
