lower buy/sell limit

lower buy/sell limit
the limits on posting buy/sell ads don't reflect the current post averages from new members of the forum (look how long it would take an average new user to be able to participate in the buy/sell section at the moment)
it appears those limits were probably developed when the forum was a bit more active some years ago
for example i'd really like to sell some f4i parts on here, but the forum simply isn't active enough for me to build such a post count without doing so artificially....
on the flip side, allowing people to do buy/sell ads sooner may drive more traffic here.
just throwin' it out there

You're assuming that we want the forum to be busy with trolls only looking to use it to hock their old parts.
This exact topic has been brought up before. Have a look at them. You will find them all over the forum and in the threads that explain the rules in the sale sections....
This policy won't be changing anytime soon, so don't hold your breath.

i understand your thinking. i've run a few forums myself.
i just see two things here (and correct me if im wrong):
- 100+ post requirement
- daily average of what, 4-5 posts for entire forum
if i posted three times a day (which would be a struggle without 'post whoring') so i could participate to that level within a month, i'd personally be half of the traffic of the forum.
again, just throwing it out there that it lacks some amount of logic if an actual honda rider like me can't forsee any way he'll even get to post up any of his giant collection of parts this year.... i think there is a problem of scale here
i wont argue the point further... not trying to cause trouble, i just think due to current traffic level to post requirement ratio, the situation should be revisted.

I'm actually a bit surprised myself at the lack of posting. It seems like this forum should be way more popular. People are friendly and helpful, it is well laid out, etc. It doesn't seem like there is much here, though. I have struggled with the post count thing myself. As much as I'd like to participate more I have a 1989 CBR600F which I am slowly putting back together. It isn't a major priority in my life as I have a couple other bikes which I ride regularly as well as working two jobs. What it boils down to is that I don't have a lot to contribute (although I'm trying to throw out ideas unrelated to a specific motorcycle just to help out). I wish more people would join up but maybe with the size of the internet CBR owners are on other forums. Browsing around a bit I notice that there are model specific forums (very model specific) for individual bikes. There is a 250 forum, a 350 forum, a 500 forum, a Fireblade forum, a 1000 forum, an 1100 forum, etc. Divide and conquer.
It's too bad. I like this forum and will keep coming here but I guess that's just how these things work. People migrate around and I don't know what exactly it is that attracts people to one specific forum versus another.
