Default Re: trickle charger question

This is a question related to one I previously posted on heated clothing.

When I put the F4i on a trickle charger, the charger is red for about a minute or two before it goes to the blinking green light and eventually goes to the solid green which indicates a fully charged battery.

This happens whether I ride several hours on the freeway or short trips around town.

Now. in contrast the other two bikes i have go right to the blinking green light after being ridden a while.

So, it seems that the f4i is losing a very small amount of battery charge. I recently replaced the reg/rec and it still doing this.

Now, this doesn't seem like a big deal. After all, what's an extra minute on the trickle charger?

But, what if I take the bike on a week long trip? Will I eventually get stranded somewhere?

I guess what I'm asking is whether this is just the way the F4i is. or whether there is something up with my stator.

Curious to know what is everyone else's experience with throwing the bike on a trickle charger after being ridden. Does it seem like it's lost a bit of juice or does it seem fully charged? Thanks.

Doesn't really sound like you have anything to worry about. My RR does the same thing where it is red for just a min then back to blinking green and then solid green. I have gone on many long distant trips and it always cranks over and starts just fine. Sounds pretty normal to me.

Thanks, I won't worry about it then. Thanks for the response.
