Default New to bikes, working on 2001 f4i.

So I bought a bike for a steal but needed a decent amount of work since it sat for 4 years outside with gas in the tank, and long story short I have finally made it to the gas tank which is a big thing for me and I noticed the original pump has a filter on bottom and one past the pump is this normal or do I need 2 filters for the pump itself? Thanks!

that's normal. The metal bundle is the pressure filter that gets the big stuff. The main filter gets the finer stuff before it gets to the injectors.

By the metal bundle do you mean the steel wool stuff or the metal can that is past the pump itself? The one I bought has a little baggy on the bottom with plastic supports in it that go's on the bottom of the filter.

Yea thats normal. He means the steel wool looking piece. Thats the filter from return line from the rail. I believe that plastic looking piece is just a screen? Chime in Demon but it sits at the base of the pump assembly. The metal can is the actual fuel filter from there it goes back up to the rail and onto the injectors.

I wouldnt even change the bottom one I mean unless its all rusty or your in tank was rusty or something. But yea change out the in line fuel filter. Cant hurt thas for sure. Not sure what you mean about not coming with one? Should have been in the assembly next to the pump there. Do you mean the plastic rectangle piece?
