RE: How Many Miles Can You go on a Full Tank of Gas?
can somebody explain the reserve lights on the f4i for me please? the reserve light kicks on and there are 4 boxes. the top box will begin to blink and then disappear leaving 3 boxes with that top box blinking as well. after the last block blinks, whats next? does all 4 boxes blink after that? And when all 4 boxes blink, is that when you are on your last gallon or "reserve" tank? Or is your last gallon when the reserve light kicks on and the 4th (top) box blinks? somebody please clarify! thanks.

I get about 125 miles before she's dry. I am constantly on the throttle though, always in high RPMs. I fill up with only 93. Regardless of how much of a "waste" it may seem, if you know anything about dirtbikes, ATVs, Streetbikes or Snowmobiles you know you always want to use 93. It keeps the jetting clean.

When the digital gauge shows up, you are in the reserve.

lower octane gas actrually burns slower than the higher grade stuff which is why you get better gas milleage than with higher octane.

Hmmm,, check this out,, been running high grade gas,, got roughly 125 miles out of tank,, then ran mid grade,, its at 139 miles right now and still 3 reserve markers left. I drive the same path, same speed, everyday

bone stock
i go 150miles to a tank and then fill up. the reserve light NEVER comes on. i would assume i would get 180 if not more, miles to a full tank. like i said, i just fill up when i get to 150 before the light even comes on. last week i was at around 165 when i filled up, and still no reserve light.
oh, i guess i should mention driving habbits
normally around the city, roads with 45-55mph limits. 80% of the time, i ride like i have common sense on how to save gas (shift around 3-4k). i rarely go above 9k. ive only hit shift light once since buying the bike in january.
